I've nothing against geo-engineering in principle, you've got to try it to see if it works, just like GM crops. Not sure if we need cloud-seeding in Britain though (he says, looking out at a typically British autumn monsoon...)

Try telling that to the hundreds of nomads who are being forcibley removed from their tribal ancestral lands south of where my husband is from. They are being turfed off for a big geo engineering project which involves diverting three of the main rivers that orginate in Tibet and having ginormous damns being built in the style of the 3 gorges damn which has been proved responsible for the earth quakes in Sichuan last year and are going to cause a whole host of other problems.

The nomads btw are being herded -scuse the pun- into 'settlements'' which are glorified concrete camps in the middle of nowhere, their cattle are confiscated from them and they have no way of making a living making them reliable on the government who are basically starving them to death. There is already a high incidence of mental health problems and alcoholism ...a 2000 year old way of life, which is environmentally sustainable, destroyed in the name of 'progress'....go figure that one out.

On top of global warming caused by overpopulation we've now got the chinese government fucking about with Mother Nature in the name of 'progress'....

The next global wars are going to be over water - bearing in mind that there are several major water sources in Asia that originate in....Tibet.
