I went to Westfield on Saturday - I am not the biggest fan of shopping centres but I did enjoy going here as it is sooooo big. All the kids toys and clothes shops are bunched together so that you can avoid the kids and Moos (yeay!!) . . . . all the designers are there - I couldn't afford to buy from them, but it was nice to nosey around them to see what they sold. Ok so it's a tea towel, but couldn't you just imagine giving this design to some of your moo/duh friends?

I had no idea tea towels could be so funky - what a fab website (if you like tea towels).

Edited as I missed out the word 'Alphabet' from the thread title - it makes more sense now - could you imagine a Child Unfriendly Tea Towel?!

I'm thinking about going away in January but I'm stumped on where to go. It doesn't have to be blistering hot - but preferably sunny and warm. Any ideas?

(Sadly I don't have an enormous budget, certainly can't afford the Maldives for example. )

A brewery has launched a beer with a 32% alcohol content, called Tactical Nuclear Penguin. This goes with their strong 18.2% beer Tokyo and their low alcohol beer called Nanny State (the latter so named after they were rebuked by watchdogs for releasing an 18.2% beer). Personally I think it sounds revolting, as strong beer tastes like whisk(e)y and I hate whisk(e)y.

This is a question for all you exercise nuts!

I've been exercising on my cross trainer at home for a while now so decided to up the intensity of my workouts by adding outdoor jogging to the mix. Thing is, I am a total beginner and feel so conspicuous jogging outside. And jogging is so much harder than going on the cross trainer! At the moment I have only been out twice (once today, in the stormy weather!) and both times only managed about 10 mins before I got out of breath. I...

Spandau Ballet

I've got a couple of spare tickets to see Spandau Ballet at the O2 arena this Wednesday the 21st October, really good position on the lower tier pretty close to the stage if anyone fancies them for £20 each (face value of £60) - I got them as a block of 4 off ebay when I only wanted 2 - and there's a single one in the next block, even nearer the stage.

Anyone up for some 80s cheese or know anyone who is?

Can even put you up in my new caravan!

We went to see Sarah Millican at the weekend and she was really funny. Especially when she pointed out "I don't have children, I don't want children, I dont like children" and proceded to slag off the "You don't know if you're not a mum" mentality (A la Bill Bailey).

Anyone familiar with The Bad Shepherds? They're fronted by Ade Edmonson and they do folk cover versions of punk songs - definitely worth a listen, they're rather good.

This Youtube clip isn't a punk song, it's a couple of lines from All Around My Hat but it's very funny (and short) - and hang on right to the end for a priceless comment from Ade Edmonson:

Hubby and I are hoping to go to Greece for a good old nose about next year. We plan on travelling out of season - probably around March time when it's a bit cooler out there (we both wilt in the heat). Must see the Pantheon in Athens, but beyond that, we aren't keen to stay in the city - we like big open spaces. We're thinking of travelling about the islands a bit, so I thought I'd see if any of you chaps can recommend a place to see or stay?

Well peeps after 2 and a half years of begging, pleading etc (my greyhound Fred died and that time) we have finally got a puppy. He is a Shitz Tzu x Maltese (Malshi), is 16 weeks old, fully housetrained, innoculated etc.
We've called him Bailey and he is an absolute sweetheart.
Unfortunately I can't insert a piccie on here as I can't work out how to do it (I'm a technophobe) and beside I've been told my piccies are too big buy the people on the claims/self help...

Regualr posters will not be completely surprised to learn that I am planning another holiday! I have found a hotel that doesn't allow under 16s except during their off season (Jun-Sep) so I am trawling round Trip Advisor getting the low down.

If the following post is true it is pretty poor on the hotel's part, but...

Returned from North Eastern Tibet on Thursday eve. It took me three days to get to the airport including a nigh on drowning experience due to a horrific flash flood. I was inside a house and had to be rescued by the local soliders/police which was the most surreal experience of my life. Stayed out in the nomads land for three weeks in a tent down a breathtakingly beautiful river valley, washed in the ice cold Evian river daily and also drank from the crystal clear waters. Ate yak, sheeps...

I'm off to The Trowbridge Village Pump festival this PM. Have packed tentage, wellies, waterproofs, SPF15, sunhat, cowboy hat, drinking hat, beer, gin and tonic, cake and cash and although I'm slightly trepedacious (is that a word? the right word?) about the weather, I'm looking forward to a top weekend in a field, drinking beer, listening to music and enjoying the company of my bestest CF buddies.

Just had to brag - sorry - share this with y'all...

On Friday I have been invited to a day in Champneys in Forestmere, courtesy of one of my favourite mortgage lenders! We've been granted full use of the Spa facilites all day including a facial and massage, lunch laid on. I've booked a pedicure which I have to pay for but I'm SO worth it. They suggested bring gym kit but can I be bovvered???

Hopefully it will be a CF day.............
